Jan Dowding: BIOGRAPHY
|
|
I was born in Dorset and have lived here all my life. I'm inspired by sunsets, colour, nature, the wonderful Dorset coastline and a passion for God who created it all.
I've always loved art and started my painting career in the early 1970s as a paintress at the world-famous Poole Pottery, producing hand-painted Traditionalware and one-off pieces. I've just started exploring pottery again.
I have painted extensively on ceramic, trained in Folk Art and coached other artists in the style. For the last few years I've been painting oil on canvas; my various contemporary styles are self-developed, drawing on techniques used throughout my past. |
